[Account Settings](https://help.mywell.org/using-my-well-as-a-giver?hsLang=en#account-settings) # How to Use Two-Factor Authentication ## To secure your account using a second form of authentication follow these steps. #### Steps to Set Up Two-Factor Authentication **1.** Sign in to your My Well account. **2.** Select your initials in the top right corner. **3.** Select **Security** **4.** Choose which form for Two-Factor Authentication you would like to configure. ![2FA](https://help.mywell.org/hs-fs/hubfs/Support%20Documents/2FA.png?width=688&height=266&name=2FA.png) **a.** For SMS click **Enable.** **i.** You will receive a text message with a 6-digit code. **ii.** Enter this code in the pop-up. **iii.** Once enabled you will receive a confirmation email. **b.** For Two-Factor Authentication App click **Set Up.** **i.** You will be prompted to select an Authenticator App on another device. **ii.** Click Continue. **iii.** You will see a QR Code and Secret Key. You can use either of these to configure your Authentication App.  **iv.** Once your Authentication App is configured, enter the 6-digit code in the app in the field below. **v.** Once enabled you will receive a confirmation email. **vi.** To **Disable** this form of authentication with a red **Disable** button. **Pro Tip: You can set up both types of Two-Factor Authentication. The type you choose to set up first will be your preferred method.
