How to Set Up Stocks and Crypto

Setup Non-cash Assets for Givers

Note: Stocks and Crypto giving are powered through Engiven and surfaced in the My Well platform giving flow. When enabled, givers will see additional payment options alongside Bank/Card.

 Enable Stocks & Crypto

  1. Go to your Admin Portal
  2. Click you organization logo
  3. Click Settings
  4. Click Non-Cash Items
  5. Toggle on Stocks and/or Crypto

Confirm the Giving Page Display

  1. Once enabled, go to the org’s giving page:

    1. https://{shortName}.mywell.org/give

  2. The giver should see a payment type toggle with:

    • Bank/Card
    • Stocks — if STOCK_GIVING is enabled
    • Crypto — if CRYPTO_GIVING is enabled

If neither Stocks nor Crypto is enabled, the toggle will not appear.

What happens after a gift is submitted

When the giver submits a Stock or Crypto gift:

  1. My Well creates a transaction.
  2. The transaction starts as: PENDING
  3. A non-cash detail record is attached to the transaction with the Engiven gift ID
  4. My Well sends:
    • Giver notification
    • Admin notification
  5. As the transaction moves through the process the status updates. Here are the different statuses:

My Well Transaction Status

Meaning

Pending

Awaiting Transfer

Settled

Sold & Paid Out to the Organization

Declined

Transaction Expired

Settlement Payout Behavior

When Engiven sends final value information, My Well creates a daily settlement payout for the org.

  •  Disbursement  Is In Process or Paid
  • Engiven provides a gross USD value
